Kurchatov: The Centre of Operations for the Soviet Nuclear Weapons Programme

The former secret city of Kurchatov in Kazakhstan was once the centre of operations for the Soviet nuclear weapons programme. Since the collapse of the USSR the population is now less than half of what it was and it has become a partial ghost town with many abandoned sites.
